The Company was founded by Mr. Pat Salmon who hauled his first load of mail for the USPS in 1946 driving a straight truck from Harrison, Arkansas to Little Rock, Arkansas. Mr. Salmon and his sons expanded the single state operation into a regionally based transportation company. Today, this third generation family business is a Key Supplier for the USPS and transports mail with a fleet of 1,500 trucks in nearly every state in the nation. The equipment and technology systems have become much more advanced over the years, but Salmon Companies has maintained its core operating principle of delivering the mail for the USPS “safely on time, every time”.
